Privacy Policy

Version 1.0 · Effective September 25, 2026 · Last updated September 25, 2026

At a glance

We collect what we need to run the chat, keep it safe and meet the law. We never sell sensitive information such as your gender identity, and we never share it with advertising or analytics partners. Analytics and advertising cookies wait for your "Accept", and a Global Privacy Control signal counts as a refusal. Every US user can access, correct, export and delete their data by writing to privacy@chatnow.fr. This summary is for convenience; the full text below controls.

1. Who we are

ChatNow, the chat service at chat-now.net, is operated by Skyline Online LLC, a New Mexico limited liability company, 1209 Mountain Road Place NE, Ste N, Albuquerque, NM 87110, USA ("we", "us"). We decide how your personal information is used and are responsible for it. This policy covers ChatNow, including guests and members, and applies to users in the United States. For privacy questions, write to privacy@chatnow.fr.

2. Information we collect

Source What we collect
If you chat as a guest Username, gender, the age you enter, city, and the messages, photos and voice notes you send. No email address.
If you create an account Email address, password (stored hashed, never in plain text), date of birth, gender, optional bio, photo gallery (up to 10 photos), contacts and blocked users, and your messages, photos and voice notes. If you use Sign in with Google, we receive your email address from Google.
Automatically IP address and source port, connection timestamps, a device identifier, and the technical data needed to connect webcam calls. Webcam video and audio pass through our media servers and are never recorded.
Age verification A yes/no result for your current session. AgeVerif, the independent provider that checks your age, never sends us your ID, selfie or the date of birth read during the check.
ChatNow Premium Purchase date, amount and payment status. Stripe processes your card; we never see your card number.
Reports and support Reports you send or that concern you, moderation decisions and appeals, and messages you send to our support addresses.

What other users see. Your username, your profile and the messages you post in a room are visible to the people in that room. Private messages, photos and voice notes are visible to the people you send them to, who can keep or share them.

3. How we use it

  • To run the chat: rooms, private messages, photos, voice notes, webcam, profiles and contacts.
  • To keep the service secure: spam prevention, rate limits, VPN detection, one active session per account, and enforcing bans.
  • To moderate and enforce our Community Guidelines, and to handle reports and appeals.
  • To confirm through AgeVerif that you're an adult.
  • To process ChatNow Premium payments.
  • To send transactional emails, such as account confirmation and password reset.
  • To measure audience and show ads, only if you accept those cookies (see Cookies).
  • To meet legal obligations, including reports to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and responses to valid legal process.

4. Sensitive information

Two kinds of information on ChatNow are sensitive: the genders "Trans" and "Crossdresser (CD)", which reveal gender identity or expression, and sexual content exchanged in rooms marked as adult rooms or in private messages. We process this information only with your explicit consent, which we ask for separately from your acceptance of the Terms of Service.

You can withdraw your consent at any time by changing your gender, deleting the content concerned, deleting your account, or writing to privacy@chatnow.fr.

We never sell sensitive information and never share it with advertising or analytics partners.

We don't seek, collect or infer health information; please don't share it in public rooms.

5. AI moderation and language models

OpenAI classifies the text of public and private messages for moderation, without usernames or other identifiers, under terms that don't allow it to use that text for training. The result helps our moderators spot likely violations; it doesn't remove anything or decide penalties on its own. Photos, webcam and voice are not sent to OpenAI. How moderation works is explained in the Community Guidelines.

We don't use, sell or share your personal information to train large language models.

6. Who receives your information

We share personal information only with the recipients below, and only what each one needs. AgeVerif, Google and Stripe also handle what you give them directly under their own privacy policies.

We don't sell personal information for money. Advertising partners you accept in the cookie banner may use cookies for interest-based ads, which some state laws call a "sale", "sharing" or "targeted advertising"; you can refuse or withdraw at any time, and we honor Global Privacy Control.

If you accept analytics or advertising cookies, Google and our advertising partners may collect information about your online activities over time and across different websites.

When a period ends, we delete the information or anonymize it so it no longer identifies you.

8. Where we store it and how we protect it

Our platform runs on servers in Germany (Contabo GmbH, Munich) and our website on Hetzner Online GmbH (Gunzenhausen, Germany); some providers listed above process data in the United States. As a US company, we must answer valid US legal process for data wherever it's stored.

We protect your information with hashed passwords, encrypted connections (TLS) and restricted staff access. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we'll notify you as required by law.

9. Your US privacy rights

Wherever you live in the United States, you have these rights:

  • Access and copy: confirm whether we process your information and get a copy in a portable format.
  • Correction: fix inaccurate information.
  • Deletion: have your information deleted, except what the law requires us to keep.
  • Opt-out: refuse targeted advertising and "sale" through Cookie settings or Global Privacy Control, and refuse profiling by writing to privacy@chatnow.fr.
  • Withdraw consent to our processing of sensitive information (see Sensitive information).

This is also how you review and request changes to your information. Members can view, edit and delete their profile and content in their account settings. Anyone, guest or member, can write to privacy@chatnow.fr. We verify your identity before acting on a request, and we answer within 45 days. Exercising a right is free and never leads to worse treatment.

Guests can send a request with the username they used. Guest messages and photos are deleted 24 hours after a guest leaves, so we may no longer hold them; connection logs are kept as described in How long we keep it.

If we refuse your request, you can appeal by writing to privacy@chatnow.fr. We decide appeals within 60 days and explain our decision. If we deny your appeal, you can contact your state's Attorney General.

9.1 Nevada residents

Nevada residents may send a verified request not to sell their covered information to privacy@chatnow.fr. We don't sell covered information as defined by NRS 603A.

10. Cookies and similar technologies

This website, chat-now.net, sets no cookies itself; the cookies listed below are set by the chat service when you join. By default, we use only strictly necessary cookies. Google Analytics 4 and advertising partners load only after you click "Accept" in the cookie banner. "Reject" is just as easy, and you can change your choice at any time through the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page of the chat. We keep your choice for 6 months, then ask again.

Strictly necessary cookies can't be switched off in Cookie settings, because login, security and age verification don't work without them.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a refusal of analytics and advertising cookies for that browser, wherever you live in the US. Browsers' Do Not Track signals have no common standard, so we don't respond to them separately; we honor Global Privacy Control instead.

We never pass your gender, age or chat content to Google Analytics 4 or to advertising tags.

11. Adults only

ChatNow is for adults 18 and over, and everyone verifies their age before entering (see Age verification). We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, including children under 13. If we learn we have, we close the account and delete the information, except what the law requires us to keep, such as material reported to NCMEC. Parents can contact safety@chatnow.fr.

12. Changes to this policy

When we make a material change, we tell members by email and show a notice on the site. The effective date and the date of the last update appear at the top of this page.
